Overview

Cracker Barrel is seeking a Director to lead the Business and Consumer Insights team. The Director, Business and Consumer insights will partner with different departments in the organization to assess and address learning needs and manages, analyzes and synthesizes consumer, business and marketplace insights to influence business decisions and action planning. This individual will provide thought leadership regarding investment in and application of consumer and business insights to help team make informed decisions to deliver against critical business objectives. Our ideal candidate will have excellent leadership skills and executive level presentation abilities.

Responsibility

  • Oversees and determines the strategic direction of consumer, business insights analysis, and the value pricing team

  • Develops the overall company level objectives and strategy regarding consumer and business insights

  • Summarizes and presents key learning for business owners and Senior Management

  • Supported through the management of macro marketing scorecard indices for business analytics to track various business, industry, consumer, and brand performance trends

  • Presents study findings to business owners and provides consultation regarding the interpretation of results and implications for company strategy.

  • Works with internal Financial and Planning Analysis teams to Forecast and evaluate ROI and guest/consumer impact on various marketing and new menu initiatives

  • Regularly represents Business & Consumer Insights in consulting partnerships with and presenting to senior leadership, including executives

  • Establishes functional objectives, measures, and best practices and methodologies

  • Manages unique and methodologically complex market research projects by selecting vendors, methods, and project parameters.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or Psychology, with 10+ years of experience in market research, marketing, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. MBA or MMR preferred

  • Experience researching holistic consumer experiences. Experience in chain restaurant or hospitality industries preferred

  • Significant experience developing employees or leading large, complex vendor relationships.

  • Adept at uncovering insights and driving them into the business

  • Curious, analytical mindset with ability to distill disparate datasets into clear & meaningful recommendations

  • Bring passion for change and out of the box thinking

  • Appreciate importance of the effective and efficient use of resources

  • Comfortable with statistical data yet sometimes have to go with experience

  • Deliver the “so what” and drive to action

  • Comfortable with ambiguity

  • Very detailed with excellent problem-solving skills

  • Ability to multi-task and stay organized in fast-paced often changing situation

  • Enjoy working with variety of business teams and leadership levels
