Cracker Barrel Sr. Fixed Assets Coordinator in Lebanon, Tennessee


Cracker Barrel is looking for a Senior Fixed Assets Coordinator. This person will help the company ensures accurate recording and control of fixed assets, provide timely and accurate financial information related to capital expenses and facilitates tax compliance for all legal entities by providing Tax department with appropriate information as needed.


  • Works directly with Manager and Director in preparing, reviewing, and analyzing company’s fixed assets position. Assists in determining accounting treatment, depreciation methods, and proper asset classification essential for maintaining accurate financial records.

  • Ensures all fixed assets are properly classified. Reconciles general ledger and fixed assets system; reviews all capital accounts. Researches and corrects credit balances and discrepancies in cost. Sets up import and balance files; keys transfers and calculates overrides. Reviews depreciation methods, lives, and dates of service.

  • Completes adjusting entries related to internal depreciation; accrues depreciation expense to all stores and departments; calculates capitalized interest for new store construction. Reviews capitalized costs for various departments to be charged to stores and/or departments.

  • Tracks acquisitions, deletions, and transfers; reviews capital invoices paid daily to ensure capitalization of equipment. Reviews transfers and reconciles Construction-in-Progress accounts to appropriately classify fixed assets for new stores.

  • Researches transferred, retired, or sold equipment; locates original general ledger documents and notes information relating to the disposal, transfer, or sale in fixed asset records, either on paper copy or scanned imaged document.


2-year degree in Accounting or Business plus 1-2 years accounting experience; or 6-8 years of related equivalent experience and intermediate knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
